it's strange to celebrate Independence Day when one is in England, of all places. While I felt homesick, I did enjoy a barbecue thrown by an American friend. She outdid herself: she baked a ton of Toll House cookies, gave away Butterfingers, Tootsie Rolls, Twizzlers, and lots of other fun sweets you don't easily find here, and had flags flying all over. And hotdogs! Can't forget the hotdogs.

There is absolutely NOTHING a real chocolate chip cookie can't fix, including a bout of homesickness.
And I am completely over the moon, because just this minute I found this website that is now going to make a sickening amount of money off of me.

It's amazing to me though, how much your memory can play tricks on you. When I was back in the UK in March/April, I bought myself, amongst other things, a Pot Noodle. How sad was I when it tasted naff? Very.
I feel sad for you. I would have absolutely no qualms sending you something...if it was light hahaha.

Please don't tell me you're going to order Twinkies!!
There are a lot of American candy/sweets I wouldn't miss at all seeing as I don't eat them in the first place - but do they really not have Jelly Bellies in the UK? (Too long since I lived there to remember!) Those I *would* miss!
I'd miss McCormick's Montreal Chicken seasoning too, which that website apparently does not sell! :-( So I'd have to bulk buy it here, the same way I stock up on things like green cardamoms and kalonji when I'm in the UK.
Did you notice the website says "Delicious when served ice cold" about almost all of the American sodas? LOL - I guess I've been in the US too long - wouldn't occur to me to serve soda any other way, but apparently people in the UK (even US expats?) need to be reminded!
