Those dresses are pretty ghastly. They only suit those twiggy Sienna Miller types.

Actually, I quite like the one on the left. It would go well with my violet eyes... Haven't heard much from Lord F-K recently - maybe he's keeping a low profile and licking his wounds!

Too funny and very apropos - I have a wedding in the UK to go to in 3 weeks and in desperation I even checked the Monsoon website to see if I could buy something over there. I completely agree with you. I blame this year's preoccupation with 'jewel tones' and 'bold prints'. Doesn't flatter my British pasty complexion at all.

I ended up buying a half-hearted polka dot halterneck at Macys. I will no doubt look like the 'brash American' in it! *Sigh*

Sarah

I agree about Monsoon, way OTT on proces and very much for the big teeth and tiara's crowd. I do however love their offshoot Accessorise for purses, bits and bobs.

My mum is a huge Monsoon fan. I think they cater for people like her. And the Cambridge May Ball crowd with no fashion sense.

I did giggle reading this though - I can't believe you're still looking for a dress! I fear your search is doomed in a country where dresses are actually rarely practical clothing because the weather is so bad... Get on a plane and come shopping over here! Virgin Atlantic has some sales on at the moment also....

Gabrielle

And these were just three of them. The store was totally overflowing with absolutely useless dresses just like this. So frustrating.

Expatmum

God I used to stock up on Monsoon things when I came back every year, but last summer I nearly died at what they had in. Horrendous.
